Stuart joins as Senior Counsel in our Dallas office, and Rachelle joins as Associate Attorney in our Fort Worth office.

Stuart Bumpas, J.D., LL.M.
Senior Counsel – Dallas Office
Stuart brings decades of experience serving nonprofit organizations, art collectors, museums, schools, and charitable foundations. His distinguished career includes serving as Assistant to the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, as well as General Counsel for the Dallas Museum of Art, The Hockaday School, and The Dallas Foundation.
He has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America® for more than 35 years and continues to be a leader in the fields of tax, employee benefits, and nonprofit law. Stuart also serves on boards and committees across the arts, education, and healthcare communities, reflecting his deep commitment to philanthropy and public service.
Outside of his professional life, Stuart enjoys art, travel, and is fluent in French.
Rachelle Stapley, J.D.
Associate Attorney – Fort Worth Office
Rachelle earned her B.A. in economics, cum laude, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University. She previously practiced as a tax associate at Kirkland & Ellis in New York and Los Angeles, where she advised private equity clients on the tax aspects of fund formation, including structuring, partnership allocations, and co-investment arrangements. Additionally, Rachelle provided pro bono legal services to various 501(c)(3) organizations, assisting with formation, mergers, wind-ups, and ongoing legal compliance.
Outside of work, Rachelle enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, exploring national parks, and reading.
